Man shoots dead fiancee, nine others in Charsadda

CHARSADDA: An angry man gunned down his former fiancee and her nine family members in the Tangi Tehsil of Charsadda district, official sources said on Sunday.
The sources said that the accused, Gul Ahmed Said, along with his accomplices, attacked the house of his former would-be in-laws in Dado Killay in Tangi Tehsil at 3:00am and opened indiscriminate fire on the members of the family.
“The family members were asleep when the assailants stormed the house,” said a police official.The official said that Hazrat Jamal, his wife Pari, four sons Shah Faisal (28), Shah Khalid (25), Irfan (15) Abu Bakr (10) and four daughters, including fiancee of the accused Naveeda (26), Sumeera (21), Kulsoom (22) and Fatima (11) were killed on the spot.
The accused escaped after committing the gruesome murders. The local people shifted the bodies to the Tehsil Headquarters Hospital in Tangi for autopsy.The people staged a protest when male doctors conducted the post mortem of the female victims due to lack of female staff at the ill-equipped hospital.
Police sources said that the accused Gul Ahmad Said had also killed his parents and two brothers over delay in his marriage last year. He had gone into hiding after the killings and there was no clue to his whereabouts.
Hazrat Nawab, the brother of the deceased Hazrat Jamal, in the first information report at the Mandani Police Station said that his brother had refused to marry off his daughter to the accused. He said this had enraged the accused and he eliminated the entire family.
