LAHORE: Leader of the Opposition in the National Assembly Syed Khursheed Shah said on Friday that it was not correct to equate political rivals with terrorists.
Addressing newsmen in Sukkur, Khursheed Shah said he was not invited to the ceremony where Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif had come to inaugurate a road, but he was but still he was grateful to the prime minister for taking such initiative and he had always played the role of an active opposition for the the welfare of the people, Geo News reported.
He said that he had never demanded resignation of the prime minister and maintained that prime minister was misguided about his statement. Earlier, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif mentioned opposition leader and said that he came to Khursheed Shah’s city to inaugurate development projects but the latter had been demanding his resignation.
Responding to the PM’s statement, Khursheed Shah said that the PM was relying on untrue statements and he (Khursheed Shah) had never demanded Nawaz’s resignation. The opposition leader said that he would stand by and honour each and every word his leader Bilawal Bhutto Zardari said. Bilawal had reminded Nawaz the day when he (Nawaz) had demanded the resignation of the than prime minister Yusuf Raza Gilani.
