‘Democracy’s strength stopped Musharraf from going abroad for sometime’
LAHORE: Railways Minister Khwaja Saad Rafique has said whatever strength democracy possesses in Pakistan, it stopped Musharraf from going abroad for sometime.
Talking to the media here on Tuesday, the minister said holding only one person or one institution responsible for letting Musharraf go would not be fair. He said there was no danger from Musharraf but the sit-ins, so that the democratic system continues in the country without any hindrance.
The minister said the inquiry commission would not only probe Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif's family but also everyone linked to the issue. He said the commission would also investigate Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan, his friends and Chaudhry brothers. He said the PTI chairman should have pity on Lahorites and hold his public meeting at Minar-e-Pakistan, instead of The Mall next Sunday. He said the PML-N would not allow Imran Khan to stage a sit-in at Raiwind and abuse the party’s leadership.
