Dacoit killed in encounter

KASUR: A dacoit was killed in an encounter with Mustafabad police at Rehmanpura near Paki Haveli on Saturday night.
Four robbers snatched Rs 10,000 and a mobile phone from Sarfraz. On information, a police party reached the spot. Seeing police, the robbers opened fire on them. Police also retaliated. As a result, dacoit Liaqat of Bhadian was killed on the spot while his three accomplices managed to escape.
According to DPO Ali Nasir Rizvi, the killed dacoit was wanted by Lahore, Kasur and Jhelum police in more than 20 cases.
Meanwhile, police handed over the body of the dacoit to his family after autopsy on Sunday. Later, he was buried in a graveyard at Bhadian Kalan.
