SUKKUR: Leader of the Opposition in the National Assembly Syed Khursheed Ahmad Shah on Friday said that the terrorism of Ziaul Haq had murdered Zulfikar Ali Bhutto (ZAB) and Pervez Musharraf’s terrorism had allegedly slain Benazir Bhutto.
He expressed these views while talking to journalists at a seminar organised by the Sukkur Public School on Friday. He asked the chairman Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) how the PTI candidate for Senate Deputy Chairman’s post Shibli Faraz had bagged 16 votes while his party had only seven senators.
He said that Imran Khan had leveled charges of horse-trading on the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) and he should clear his party’s position in this regard.
He said the Rangers should have avoided searching the house of Altaf Hussain’s sister after a raid on 90.Khursheed Shah said the Pakistan Army was getting positive results in the Zarb-e-Azab Operation. He said terrorists had challenged the writ of the government in North Waziristan and other areas but the Pakistan Army had restored it. He said Pakistan Rangers along with the police should take action against terrorists without discrimination. He said that there was no confrontation between the MQM and PML-N while the Baldia Town incident and the killing of MQM activist in alleged firing by Rangers at Nine zero were being investigated.
He said he had no any clue if Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah had taken into confidence Interior Minister Ch Nisar Ali Khan over the raid on Nine-Zero. He, however, said the National Action Plan (NAP) was being implemented in letter and spirit. He said it was political wisdom of Asif Ali Zardari that the PPP candidate was elected unopposed as the Senate chairman. He said that Mian Nawaz Sharif and other leaders also gave a good gesture by not putting up their candidates and it was good for the continuation of democracy. He said that democratic norms should be strengthened. Khursheed Shah advised Imran Khan not to do politics on accusations and move to politics of parliament.
