Man, son among three killed, six injured in accidents

BAHAWALPUR: Three people were killed and six others injured in two road accidents here on Monday.
In the first incident, a wedding party car was going to Dharanwala from Hasilpur when it collided with a tractor-trolley loaded with wheat at Chak 5, Fateh, near Chishtian. As a result, Muhammad Shafi and his son Nadim Shafi were killed on the spot while three others, including an eight-year-old child, were injured. The injured people were shifted to the Chishtian THQ Hospital but the doctors referred them to the Bahawal Victoria Hospital in Bahawalpur.
In the second incident, a speeding truck hit a motorcycle at Channi Goth Chakkar. As a result, class 2 student Arshaman Qadir was killed on the spot while his brothers Emas Qadir and Osama Qadir and sister Shaista Qadir were injured.
They were on way home from the Government Primary School Channi Goth when the accident took place. The injured were shifted to the Bahawal Victoria Hospital. Channi Goth police have arrested the truck driver and started investigation.
RAPIST CONVICTED: Bahawalnagar District and Sessions Judge Nisar Ahmad on Monday awarded life imprisonment and Rs 100,000 fine to Azam in a rape case registered with B-Division police.
According to prosecution, the convict had raped Saima, a resident of Farooqabad, on September 21, 2015.
