Three dacoits killed in Okara encounter

OKARA: Three alleged dacoits were killed in an encounter with Depalpur circle police near Rohela Teja village on Sunday.
Basirpur police signaled three motorcyclists at a picket near Chak Qaim. To it, they slowed down their motorcycle. When Constable Asghar came to them for checking, they snatched a rifle from him and injured him and escaped. On information, Depalpur circle police started chasing the motorcyclists. Seeing police, the motorcyclists opened fire on them. Police also retaliated. As a result, the motorcyclists were killed on the spot. Two of them were later identified as dacoits Amanat and his brother Karamat while the third accomplice could not be identified so far. Police recovered three Kalashnikovs, two pistols and a rifle along with the motorcycle from the spot.
