Rehman Malik rebuts report
ISLAMABAD: Senator Rehman Malik rebutted the claim of Britain’s former deputy head of Mission in Karachi, Shaharyar Khan Niazi, that he was briefed by the British government that Altaf Hussain had links with RAW in his capacity as interior minister under PPP government.
“This is a blatant lie and I was never briefed on it,” said the former interior minister in a tone which clearly demonstrated his anger on a story appeared in The News “UK ex-diplomat says Altaf accepted working for RAW”. Malik was talking to The News on Sunday.
Expressing his intention to sue Shaharyar Niazi for this downright lies, Rehman Malik said he has already directed his legal team to prepare a law suit against Niazi.
Malik said Niazi spitted lies and whatever he said in the story was concocted, baseless and without any truth. “Someone is trying to malign me for taking cheap publicity.” Said Malik. Malik said he never told anything about Altaf Hussain to the British Home Secretary or met her for any such purpose as mentioned in the story.
Senator Malik expressed his anger on the lies of Shaharhar Niazi on some other issues, though he termed all this as baseless, figment of his imagination and an attempt to malign him.
