India conspiring to weaken Pakistan: Siraj
ISLAMABAD: The Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Ameer Senator Sirajul Haq on Sunday said that India, which conspired and participated in the break-up of Pakistan in two parts, was once again active to weaken the country.
Sirajul Haq, who led a big demonstration here at Aabpara Chowk against issuance of death warrants of veteran JI Bangladesh leader Matiur Rehman Nizami, said the Pakistan government and the international community were not fulfilling their responsibilities to stop the execution of supporters of united Pakistan through so-called war crimes tribunal.
Top leader of Jamaatud Daawa Hafiz Muhammad Saeed, JI central naib Ameer Mian Muhammad Aslam and others also addressed the protest rally. The speakers said the Bangladesh government was carrying out execution of those who supported a united Pakistan in 1971, at the behest of India.
Siraj said the victimisation of pro-Pakistan JI leaders in Bangladesh could be stopped in the light of the tripartite agreement between Pakistan, Bangladesh and India if the Pakistan government desired so. He said the fall of Dhaka was the biggest tragedy in the Islamic history after the fall of Granada and the whole Muslim world was grieved over that. He said India had a hand in the fall of Dhaka and even now India’s conspiracies to undo this country were going on.
Siraj pointed out that the leaders who were being victimised and executed became part of parliamentary system of Bangladesh and participated in its progress after the world recognised the country but after 40 years, the Hasina Wajid government established a so-called war crimes tribunal. “They should refer all these cases to the international war crimes body if they have any moral courage,” he said.
The JI chief told the protestors that the international community when approached by the JI also observed that the Pakistan government should also raise the issue effectively. But he regretted that government failed to play its due role.
Siraj also criticised the government for raising slogans of liberal Pakistan. “The Founder of the Nation achieved this part of the world in the name of Almighty Allah and not to make it a secular state,” he maintained. He said the rulers and corrupt elite have been pushing the country to injustice, lawlessness, anarchy and terrorism.
Hafiz Saeed called upon the Pakistan government to expose real face of India before the international community following arrest of the RAW agent.
He said it was also responsibility of the international community to stop Bangladesh government from severe violation of human rights through execution of their peaceful political leadership which supported united Pakistan in 1971.
