Six of a family killed in Jhang road accident

JHANG: Six members of a family were killed and four others injured in an accident on Jhang-Multan Road near Doli Shaheed on Saturday night.
According to Rescue-1122, a family was returning after attending a wedding ceremony when their pick-up collided with a truck. As a result, Shahnaz Bibi (40), Safia Bibi (20), Sonia (18), Ramzan (60), Amir (25) and Bilal (7) were killed on the spot while Javed (30), Khan Muhammad (35), Muhammad Waqas (18) and Muhammad Abbas (21) were injured seriously. The injured people were shifted to the DHQ Hospital.
EXHIBITION: The Jhang Chamber of Commerce and Industry (JCCI) annual industrial exhibition’s opening ceremony will be held at the district sports complex today.
Talking to newsmen here on Sunday, JCCI vice-president Asif Javed said that the exhibition would conclude on April 4. He said that a large number of stalls had been allotted to the local, national and international companies to display their products. The visitors would be provided local, national and international brand products at one roof during the exhibition, he added. The JCCI vice-president said that maximum facilities would be given to the potential exhibitors as exhibitions played an important role for the promotion of business activities. He said that the JCCI had always stressed the need for exchange of business delegations and holding of exhibitions for being proven tools to promote business activities.
He said that exhibitions were not only for the attraction of purchasers and sellers but also highlighted the soft image of the district. He said that the exhibition would ensure provision of quality machines at affordable prices to the visitors. He pointed out that the private sector was focusing on holding exhibitions on its own and it was a good sign and for the economic well being of the country.
On the special directions of Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif, the authorities concerned had allotted a land on Jhang-Gojra Road for establishment of Jhang industrial estate, he added. The JCCI office-bearer urged the district administration to provide maximum security to the exhibitors and the visitors. JCCI senior members Dr Javed Iqbal, Haji Ishtiaq and secretary general Farooq Ahmad Cheema were also present on the occasion.
