Man, nephew killed in Faisalabad accident

FAISALABAD: A man and his nephew were killed in an accident here on Saturday.
Umar Hayat and his nephew Muhammad Onis were on their way on a bicycle when a truck and a trailer collided on Jail Road. As a result, both died on the spot. The drivers of both vehicles fled. The dead bodies were shifted to the Allied Hospital for post-mortem. Later, relatives of the deceased staged a demonstration in front of the hospital and blocked the Jail Road against the incident.
Youth commits, 7 attempt suicide in Faisalabad

FAISALABAD: A youth committed suicide here on Saturday.
Nawazish Ali, son of Falk Sher and a resident of Satiana Road, ended his life by taking poisonous pills. The motive behind the incident is said to be a domestic dispute. Meanwhile, Razia of Noor Park, Sania of Chak 103/GB, Nisar Ahmad of Islam Nagar, Naz Javed of Chak 229/RB, Muhammad Islam of Shadipura, Nasreen of Mansoorabad and Arslan of Railway Colony attempted suicide by taking poison in various incidents. They were rushed to different hospitals.
DOCTORS TO STAGE SIT-IN ON 30TH: Doctors will stage a sit-in against registration of a case against Dr Samina Khalid on March 30.
In their statements, PMA and YDA leaders including Dr Khurram Sohail, Dr Muhammad Arif, Dr Maroof Vaince, Dr Muhammad Irfan and Dr Saulat Nawaz announced that the doctors would continue their protest in all private and government hospitals here till withdrawal of the case registered by Gulberg police against Dr Samina Khalid who was running a private clinic at Jinnah Colony. They claimed that the police could not register case against any doctor as the only forum for lodging of complaints against the doctors was the Healthcare Commission. It may be recalled that a local lawyer Moazzam Ali had lodged a complaint with the Gulberg police stating that he, his brother Tajammul Hussain and his wife Shumaila visited the clinic of Dr Samina Khalid for medical check-up of Shumaila and the lady doctor allegedly received Rs 250,000 in advance from them. The complaint alleged that Dr Samina Khalid took more than 3 hours for operation of Shumaila but later told them that she could not become mother. The complainant alleged that when they demanded their money back, the doctor pushed them out from her clinic.
