The Musharraf case
By our correspondents
March 27, 2016
This refers to the letter, ‘Musharraf first’ (March 25) by Mukhtar Ahmad. The writer has justified the departure of Pervez Musharraf, supporting his arguments with personal views and by claiming that the general stood clear of all cases filed against him in the country.
In contrast, the article, ‘Musharraf first’ (March 21) by Talat Hussain underlines the need for observing rule of law while dealing with the former president. It is up to the courts to decide cases against Musharraf. Talat Hussain has rightly identified the failings of the government in handling the matter prudently.
