From Our Correspondent
BAHAWALPUR: A two-day seminar on “policing, challenges, response, issues and way forward” was inaugurated by the Bahawalpur Garrison GOC at Cholistan Auditorium on Thursday.
Speaking on the occasion, GOC Maj-Gen Amjad Ali Khattak appreciated the initiative of the Bahawalpur RPO in holding the seminar and said that it would help police to chalk out potential policing system to thwart any kind of security threat. RPO Dr Ehsan Sadiq, in his address, said that police force could be streamlined through potential reforms. Former IGP Dr Shoaib Suddle delivered a thought provoking lecture on the issue.
He said that the better understanding of the issue by the police hierarchy and political elite could alone resolve the problem. The main feature of his lecture was his debate on politicisation and political criminalisation of police force. Former IGP Shaukat Javed, former FIA DG Tariq Pervez, former IGP Ch Muhammad Yaqoob and others also spoke on the occasion.
