CHARSADDA: A girl student was injured when gunmen opened fire on a school van in the Mandikhel village on Friday, sources said.
The sources said that gunmen opened fire on a van carrying schools and college students in the morning. As a result, a girl student identified as Sunbal, student of fourth year in the Government Girls Degree College in Charsadda, sustained injuries while other students and the driver remained unhurt. The sources said that the gunmen were later identified as Sareer Ahmed, Zawar Khan, Basheer Ahmed, Israr and three others. The motive behind the attack on the van was stated to be an old enmity with the driver, Amjad.
The sources said that one of the accused had been rounded up and the police started an investigation after registering the case. The condition of the injured student was stated to be stable as she received a bullet injury in her hand.
