Man tortures wife for not allowing second marriage

SIALKOT: A man with his father tortured his wife for not giving him permission for second marriage at Sidh village in Cantonment police limits.
Abdul Rasheed reported to the police that his daughter Sadaf Noreen had contracted marriage with Naveed Sarwar about five years ago. The couple had two children from the wedlock. Naveed allegedly used to misbehave with his wife.
Nowadays, Naveed was allegedly forcing his wife Sadaf to give him permission for second marriage but she refused. It infuriated Naveed and he with the help of his father Muhammad Sarwar allegedly tortured his wife Sadaf and locked her in a room.
Sadaf was later rescued by her parents and hospitalised, but her husband and father-in-law managed to escape. Police have registered a case and started investigation.
Meanwhile, Abdul Rasheed and Sadaf have appealed to the district police officer for immediate arrest of the accused.
