KOHAT: Four officials of the Customs Department were shot dead by unidentified gunmen on the Hangu Road on Tuesday night, official sources said.
The sources said a squad of the Customs Department was patrolling on the Hangu Road near a gas filling station when gunmen, who appeared to be militants, arrived and opened indiscriminate fire on the officials.
As a result, four officials died on the spot. The slain officials were identified as Inspector Abdul Wahab, driver Shamim Iqbal, Sepoys Hidayatullah and Hafeez Shah.The killers managed to escape from the spot after committing the crime.Following the incident, the police reached the scene and shifted the bodies to the District Headquarters Hospital in Kohat for autopsy.
