Cops warned

OKARA: District Police Officer Faisal Rana Thursday warned a stern action against police officers involved in misusing their official position.
Addressing a meeting of DSPs and SHOs at his office, District Police Officer Faisal Rana asked the police officers to demonstrate honesty and impartiality during handling cases of the masses. He asked the officers to remain alert and facilitate the masses in the process of registration and investigation of cases. The DPO asked them to arrest proclaimed offenders, drug peddlers and illegal weapon holders, and handle investigation of cases on a daily basis and complete challans of cases at the earliest. He asked the officers to act upon the National Action Plan efficiently, increase police beat on roads and streets. The DPO said police mobile vans must be visible to the people during beat.
COUPLE HELD: A man and a woman were held allegedly in objectionable condition. On a tip-off, the city police raided the house of Nannhi at Gulshan-e-Ahmad town and arrested Khurram Shahzad and a girl of Depalpur as they were found in objectionable condition. Nannhi succeeded to escape. A case was registered.
