Sheikh Rashid again not indicted in Zardari remarks case
ISLAMABAD: A district and sessions court of Islamabad on Saturday deferred the indictment of Awami Muslim League (AML) chief Sheikh Rashid once again in a case of accusing PPP leader Asif Ali Zardari of hatching a conspiracy to assassinate PTI Chairman Imran Khan.
The counsel for Sheikh Rashid requested the court to adjourn the hearing till third week.
Rashid appeared in the court of Civil Magistrate Abbas Shah on Saturday along with his counsel Naeem Panjutha.
Naeem Panjutha told the court that petitions are filed in the Islamabad High Court (IHC) for the dismissal of cases. He requested the court to adjourn the hearing of the case till the decision by IHC.
The judicial magistrate inquired what matter is pending in the IHC. To this, the counsel for Sheikh Rashid said that no government officer but a worker of the PPP had filed a complaint against Sheikh Rashid.
The counsel said the cases were registered against his client in Mochko Karachi, Islamabad and Murree and requested the court to adjourn the hearing till third week.
Judicial Magistrate Abbas Shah directed to provide copies of application filed in the IHC and announced interval till the arrival of the copies of the applications.
After interval, Rashid’s counsel submitted the copy of petition filed in the IHC in connection with the dismissal of the case.
The judicial magistrate adjourned the hearing of the case till June 3 over the matter pending in the IHC.
It is pertinent to mention that the case against Sheikh Rashid was registered in Aabpara Police Station.
