LAHORE: Visiting Indian film star Raza Murad has expressed joy, gratitude at love showered on him and his family by the people of Pakistan and added that the feelings of love and brotherhood exist in both people on the either sides of the Pak-India border who have a profound desire to live in peace like two good neighbours.
The veteran Indian film star, who is on a two-week long visit to Pakistan with his wife and daughter while leaving for India via wagha border on Thursday (Today), was talking to the media at the Lahore Press Club’s progrrame “Meet The Press’ organised by the LPC in his honour on Wednesday evening.
Raza Murad, who arrived in the provincial metropolis from Karachi to leave for his home country via Wagha, was greeted by President Lahore Press Club Shahbaz Mian, its General Secretary Shadab Riaz and senior journalists at Meet the Press .
Raza Murad was flanked by his family and two of the great Pakistani artistes Ghulam Ali and Mustafa Qureshi.
Ghulam Ali and Mustafa Qureshi also praised Raza Murad and paid rich tributes to the visiting artiste.
Speaking on the occasion, Raza congratulated Pakistanis on the brilliant performance of Pakistani team in the T-20 World Cup in Kolkata and said they played every well.
He said he had never dreamed of being greeted so royally by such a big number of journalists.
He also paid rich tributes to Ghulam Ali and Mustafa Qureshi and thanked them by coming to the press club for him and his family.
Recording his feelings during his visit, Raza said so many Pakistani artistes have been given work in India and it was the need of the hour that Indian artistes should also be given a similar chance in Pakistan.
Answering a query, the Indian artiste said he had been given a full support in Bollywood by Hindu artistes and had never been belittled or humiliated by his colleagues in anyway.
He said there is a great liking for Pakistani serials in India and there is a channel in Mumbai called “Dosti”, which only shows Pakistani plays and serials.
Raza Murad was also presented an ‘Honorary Membership’ of the Lahore Press Club by the President of LPC on behalf of the Lahore Press Club and its members.
