Man kills sister, brother-in-law for ‘honour’

FAISALABAD: A man allegedly killed his sister and brother-in-law for ‘honour’ at Chak 587/GB, Lundianwala, on Saturday.
Accused Muhammad Asif axed his sister Ruqayya Bibi and brother-in-law Arif Hussain, a soldier, to death when he saw them in compromising position. Arif had come to his village on leave. After committing the crime, accused Asif fled. Lundianwala police have registered a case.
POWERLOOM WORKERS STRIKE ENTERS 7TH DAY: Powerloom workers on Saturday continued their protest for the seventh consecutive day here.
Despite heavy rain, the protesters continued their sit-in in front of the DCO Office and blocked the road in protest. However, women workers ended their sit-in after negotiations with the SP. Labour leaders, including Aslam Meraj, Mumtaz Ahmad Malik, Baba Muhammad Latif and Waris Ansari, took part in the negotiation and demanded that the powerloom owners should be directed to open their factories and accept their demands.
2 BOOKED FOR CORRUPTION: The Anti-Corruption Establishment circle on Saturday booked ACE Inspector Saeed Baho and Food Inspector Muhammad Jameel on the charge of allegedly receiving Rs 4.7 million bribe.
The case was registered on the order of ACE Director Muhammad Ayub Khan. Earlier, complainant Muhammad Taufiq, former DFC, had alleged in his application to the ACE director that the accused persons had received the bribe amount from him to give him favour during an inquiry.
