ISLAMABAD: Former president General (retd) Pervez Musharraf on Friday requested the government to allow him to visit Saudi Arabia to condole the death of Saudi Arabia’s elderly King, Abdullah Bin Abdul Aziz who died early Friday.
Pervez Musharraf whose name is on the Exit Control List (ECL) requested the Interior Ministry to allow him to visit Saudi Arabia to offer his condolence with the royal family on the death of King Abdullah Bin Aziz.
Pervez Musharraf, who is facing a high treason case for violating the constitution on 3rd of November 2007 by imposing emergency rule in the country on Friday, moved an application to interior secretary through his lawyer Faisal Hussain Chaudhry, seeking permission to visit Saudi Arabia.
“We hope that the government will grant permission to former president General (R) Pervez Musharraf to visit Saudi Arabia and after offering condolence to the Royal family, he would return”, Faisal Hussain Chaudhry told The News.When asked that name of the former president was on ECL, Faisal said that the government would give permission.
