3 booked for cutting tongue of rickshaw driver

GUJRANWALA: Noshera Virkan police on Friday booked three unidentified people for cutting tongue of a rickshaw driver after taking away his vehicle.
Three unidentified accused hired rickshaw of Zeeshan. On the way, the accused allegedly cut of Zeeshan’s tongue, which made him unconscious. Later, the accused took away his rickshaw.
PHYSICAL REMAND GRANTED: The Anti-Terrorism Court judge on Friday granted five days physical remand of an accused in a case.
Mandi Bahauddin police presented Ghulam Abbas, a student of Government Degree College, before the court and demanded physical remand of the accused. The police had registered a case against the accused on the application of the college’s principal in which he had alleged that the accused threatened him of dire consequences through a letter. Meanwhile, in another case, ATC Judge Imtiaz Ahmed granted six days physical remand of an alleged terrorist. The CTD had arrested Shama Sohail from Narowal with allegedly objectionable religious literature.
SECURITY OF BANKS: SP Civil Lines Nadeem Khokhar has asked bank managers to take necessary security steps while transferring cash by vans.
Addressing a meeting here, the SP said that about 81 banks were located in Civil Lines police area and all SHOs had been directed to check security measures of the banks. He directed the bank managers to inform the concerned police station before shifting cash by vans.
