Sameer gets wild card entry in ATF juniors tennis tourney
KARACHI: Sameer Ahmed received wild card entry as Pakistan Tennis Federation (PTF) finalised the names of wild cards for the inaugural Asian Tennis Federation’s 14 & under Super Series Tennis Championship, which commences on Tuesday (today) in Islamabad.
Sameer Ahmed of Lahore defeated Mohammad Rahim of Islamabad in singles qualifying round 6-0, 6-1.
Apart from Sameer, the wild cards are Abdul Samad Areejo (Karachi), Naalain Abbas, Wee Yi Shen (Malaysia) and Subhan Bin Salik (Islamabad).
Three foreign players, one from Sri Lanka, one from Malaysia and one British player have arrived in Islamabad for the event.
Huzaffa Abdul Rehman is the top seed followed by Hamza Bin Rehan. Muhammad Said (Britain) is the third seed and Yanishkhe Cooray (Sri Lanka) is the fourth seed. The first round matches will be played today.
