Musharraf made NAB to take revenge from Nawaz: minister
LAHORE: Information Minister Pervaiz Rashid said the PML-N is not scared of accountability as it has been facing it for the past 20 years.
Talking to newsmen in Lahore, he said that Pervaiz Musharraf had created the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) just to take revenge from Nawaz Sharif. He said the politicians who were scared of accountability had quit the PML-N and joined the Musharraf league. He said that the Musharraf league was created to avert accountability.
The minister said if there is any shortcomings in the working of NAB, measures will every penny of his entire assets before contesting the elections. Rashid said if the Women Protection Bill has been enforced in Punjab and people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa need not to worry about it. He said the constitution can be amended for the sake of country and betterment of the masses.
Answering a question about the possible visit of the national cricket team to India, he said the team will not proceed to India unless the Indian government assures foolproof security.
Commenting over recent startling revelations by former Karachi mayor Mustafa Kamal and Sarfaraz Merchant against MQM and its chief Altaf Hussain, Rashid said Kamal should take evidences to the investigation committee formed by Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan.
