BAHAWALPUR: Blast at Channi Goth Chakkar on the National Highway on Friday killed one youth and injured five others.
Three of the critically injured persons were shifted to the Bahawal Victoria Hospital and two others were being treated in RHC Channi Goth. According to eyewitnesses, one unidentified man after leaving a tin box near a handcart at Channi Goth Chakkar escaped and after a few moments it exploded with a bang, leaving six people injured.
The blast was so loud that it was heard in 4-5 km radius and damaged many shops and hand carts at Channi Goth Chakkar. Although, the Rescue-1122 sources have confirmed that it was an explosive blast yet the police are still reluctant to confirm if it was a cylinder blast or an explosive blast.
Imran was killed in the blast while Zafar, Shan, Farooq, Akhtar and Riaz were injured. Deceased and the injured persons are residents of Channi Goth, a town of tehsil Ahmadpur East, about 72 kms from Bahawalpur.
