Wapda disconnects power supply to govt offices in Nawabshah

NAWABSHAH: Wapda has disconnected power supply to scores of government offices on charges of nonpayment of dues.
The departments that worked without power supply included Municipal Committee, Police, Education, SCARP, Agriculture and others.
Executive Engineer Gulzar Dasti in this regard told the newsmen that Hesco had initiated a recovery campaign after the defaulting government offices failed to respond to the notices Hesco had sent them to clear their dues.
He said that power supply to over 100 villages had also been disconnected over nonpayment of bills.
However, hospitals were given a chance to make the payments. He said that special teams had been formed to arrest power thieves.
