Two dacoits killed in Kasur encounter

KASUR: Two dacoits were killed in an encounter with Allabad police on Friday.
According to DPO Ali Nasir Rizvi, police had arrested alleged dacoit Abdul Jabbar alias Jabbari, who was involved in more than 15 cases. During interrogation, the accused told police about the whereabouts of his some accomplices.
SHO Nasrullah Bhatti and a heavy contingent of police along with the arrested dacoit were going to Koray Sial village to arrest the other accused when three hidden accused opened fire on police, which was retaliated by them. As a result, Jabbar and Zakir alias Razzaq, who was involved in more than 50 cases, were killed on the spot while two others fled.
LAWYERS STRIKE: The lawyers of Kasur, Chunian and Pattoki observed strike against an attack on their two colleagues here on Friday.
The lawyers condemned the attack and demanded immediate arrest of the culprits. Two lawyers - Azhar Yaseen and Ibrahim - were coming to the district courts when two unidentified motorcyclists shot at and injured them. Police have registered a case.
SECURITY: Punjab Environment Secretary Muhammad Iqbal Chohan visited Kasur on Friday.
He along with DCO Suleman Ghani and DPO Ali Nasir Rizvi inspected different schools, including the DPS, and checked their security arrangements. He also inspected a water treatment plant.
