Woman burnt alive by husband dies in hospital

SIALKOT: A woman, who was burnt alive by her husband a week ago, died in a Lahore hospital on Thursday night.
According to police, Ehtesham of Behlola village used to quarrel with his wife Hafza Bibi over domestic issues. They quarrelled with each other on February 21. Hafza’s mother and brother, who were also present there, tried to settle the issue but failed. On February 22, Ehtesham allegedly sprinkled petrol on his wife and set her on fire. As a result, she received serious burns. She was shifted to a local hospital but the doctors referred her to a Lahore hospital due to her critical condition. She was under treatment in the hospital where she died. Police have registered a case.
