UAF to hold Spring Festival from tomorrow

FAISALABAD: The University of Agriculture, Faisalabad, will organise the Spring Festival from Feb 28 (tomorrow).
The event, which will conclude on March 10, will be organised to provide one platform to farming industry and researchers that would help increase agricultural productivity. It would bring colourful events, including agricultural exhibition, book fair, Kisan Convention, fancy birds show, greyhound, milk competition, tent-pegging and nutrition festival. According to the schedule, milk competition would be kicked off at 1pm at the Directorate of Farm on Feb 28 while book fair would begin at the main library at 10am, greyhounds race would begin at 1:30pm, fancy birds show at 3pm and inauguration of agricultural exhibition at Expo Centre at 4pm on Feb 29. The tent-pegging competition would begin at 1pm at tent-pegging ground on March 1 while prize distribution of milk competition and greyhounds would be held at 2pm on March 2. The international seminar on role of agricultural engineering in smart agriculture would be held on March 3 and 4. The Kisan Convention would be held at 9:30am whereas prize distribution ceremonies of tent-pegging and agri exhibition would be held at 4pm on March 5. The National Institute of Food Sciences and Technology, UAF, would hold Nutrition Mela on March 9 and 10.
UAF CONVOCATION ON MARCH 16: The 23rd convocation of the University of Agriculture, Faisalabad, will be held at the varsity’s D-Ground at 11am on March 16.
Chancellor of the UAF/Punjab Governor Muhammad Rafique Rajwana will chair the session. About 5,000 graduates will receive their degrees and medals in various disciplines. The rehearsal of the event will be held at 11am on March 1.
