Rape convict executed

GUJRANWALA: A rape convict was executed at the Central Jail on Thursday morning.
Arshad had raped a girl in 1998 and was awarded death sentence by an anti-terrorism court in 2000. His appeals were rejected by the Lahore High Court and the Supreme Court and his mercy petition was also rejected by the President.
MAN DIES: A man died of overdrinking at Rana Colony, Gujranwala on Thursday. Shahzad, 45, allegedly overdrank and fell unconscious. He was rushed to DHQ hospital where he died.
