Woman raped in Haripur, three arrested
HARIPUR: A woman was allegedly raped at gunpoint by four persons in the limits of Kotnajibullah Police Station here on Tuesday.
The police quoting the victim, who was the resident of Hassanabdal said, that she was waiting for a passenger coach at Mohra Chowk to go to Haripur when a pick-up vehicle (CE-9741) stopped near her.
“I mistook it for a passenger van and boarded the vehicle,” she said.The woman, 22, added that when the driver identified as Abdul Azeem reached Dingi village, he forcibly took the vehicle to a deserted place, where four accused Ahsan, Abdul Azeem, Ibrar and Wazir raped her.
The woman said she noted the registration number of the vehicle when the accused escaped from the scene. According to the police, the medical reports confirmed that the woman had been raped.
The police registered the case under Section 376/34 and arrested three accused namely Ahsan, Abdul Azeem and Ibrar. One of the accused Wazir was still at large.The sources said that rape victim was the mother of a child and was working as housemaid in Haripur.
