‘JUP-N supports operation Zarb-e-Azb’

OKARA: JUP-N provincial president Syed Waseemul Hassan Naqvi has said that his party supports operation Zarb-e-Azb launched to eliminate terrorism.
He said this while addressing a press conference before nomination of party’s divisional office-bearers at the residence of Haji Sh Muhammad Ayub on Sunday. JUP-N provincial chief organiser Mufti Tahir Tabassum, general secretary Syed Naeem Arif and information secretary Usman Jalali were also present. Waseemul Hassan said that the JUP-N supported the Zarb-e-Azb and the National Action Plan (NAP) and it was responsibility of the government to implement the NAP to get the desired results. He said that the people were deprived of their basic rights including health and education, in the country. He said that JUP-N chief Sahibzada Dr Abul Khair Zubair was determined to hold a grand assembly of Milli Yakjehti Council in Islamabad in the mid of March to counter secularism and liberalism in the country.
INT’L DAY OF MOTHER LANGUAGE: A function was organised on the International Day of Mother Language under the auspices of a local NGO here on Saturday.
Dr Fazal Ahmad, Hashmat Ali, Dr Nisar Ahmad, Mirza Shahid Baig, Siddique Sani, Qamar Hijazi, Shahid Latif, Javed Naqvi and Anwar Malik while addressing the gathering said that only early education in the mother language was the medium to develop the understanding and concept of the education. They said that creative ability could be achieved only with the use of mother language. They said that the goal of literate Punjab could only be achieved through the mother language education of the children.
4 HELD WITH NARCOTICS: Police on Saturday arrested four drug pushers and recovered narcotics from them in separate incidents.
On a tip-off, A-Division police raided and arrested Humayun Masih with 30 bottles of wine while Cantt police arrested Shahid of 45/3R village with 83 litres brewed wine. Satghara police arrested Iqbal Masih of 23-A/GD village with 15 litres brewed wine while Nawab Ali of Darbar Dholan Shah was nabbed with 530 grams charas. The police have registered separate cases.
