I think we should all be concerned about the health especially mental health, of men also....

Hi Ed,

I was going through Us magazine of this week (March 26) and I came across a piece in ‘Bits ‘N’ Pieces’, ‘Living in a matriarchal society is better for women’s health’ that compelled me to write to you. Honestly, Ed, I don’t see why this piece made it to Us! These days, everything is about the health of women. What about the mental health of the men who suffer because of women in our society which is supposed to patriarchal? I have always seen my mother creating tons of family problems for my dad. He screams at her but then cleans the mess. So I think we should all be concerned about the health especially mental health, of men also.

Hey Ed,

I read the cover story by Iqra Asad, ‘The Eid engagement and other weddings’ in the issue of March 19. It is a great story and Iqra probably has a brother of her own; the way she narrates the conversations between Hina and Ray clearly prove that she has a brother who is every bit as annoying as Ray! I would like to know if my assumption is correct. I also like the interview of Faizan Sheikh in the section ‘Us Talk’.

has talent

Dear Ed,

Baluchistan is one of the four provinces of Pakistan. It is the largest province in terms of land area, forming the southwestern region of the country. It is not only rich in natural resources but also rich in talent, whether it is Football, Cricket or any other game, but this talent is being wasted due to nepotism and ignorance. PCB neglects the region and that’s why playing for Pakistan is hardly an incentive for the people of Baluchistan. Pakistan Super League is considered one of the best leagues in the world. In this league, players are seen from all over the world but unfortunately not from Baluchistan. Even old players are selected but our own young talent is not being utilized. I humbly request Pakistan Cricket Board to organize camps in Baluchistan so that the young talent of Baluchistan from grass-root level is able to make it to national level.

Narrated by Abu Bakra (R.A)

Allah’s Apostle (S.A.W) said thrice, ‘Shall I not inform you of the biggest of the great sins?’ We said, ‘Yes, O Allah’s Apostle.’ He said, ‘To join partners in worship with Allah: to be undutiful to one’s parents.’ The Prophet sat up after he had been reclining and added, ‘And I warn you against giving forged statement and a false witness; I warn you against giving a forged statement and a false witness.’ The Prophet kept on saying that warning till we thought that he would not stop.
