I have been following Saniyah Eman’s stories for some time. She is a gifted writer, but with ‘The girl next door’, she has outdone herself. It is a promising first part and I am eagerly waiting to read the next episode. It’s a topic very pertinent to our society, but unfortunately people tend to gloss over unpleasantness. Keep up the good work, Saniyah!
I’m an old reader and admirer of Us mag. I not only read it myself but also recommend it to my students and followers on Facebook whenever they ask me to recommend some good local English magazines for teens that they can buy from a hawker.
What prompted me to write to you is your response to Shahnawaz Khan’s letter in Jan 26 issue. My answer is a BIG, BIG YES! I really miss your chit chat. Please do include the editorial even at the cost of our letters!
When we write letters, we don’t necessarily want them in print; rather we want to convey our feedback to you. Consider publishing only the names of the senders, as a receipt, if the letters don’t contain something special.

Some of you feel there is nothing wrong with this ad, while the others disagree. Let’s lock horns to decide how tasteful or tasteless this promo is:
Max, 300 words. We will publish one ‘for’ and one ‘against’ in our next issue.
We did not realise our little missives were missed! Well, not that much, really. After all, we only used the note to you all out there to talk a bit about the content, an issue or to announce a competition. But we realise that we also lost the opportunity to praise the efforts of our wonderful writers when we did away with our, uh, well ... editorial. Something we can set to rights. Here goes ...
In this week’s edition, we bring to you the second part of Saniyah Eman’s beautiful story. She highlights a sensitive issue in a very sensitive way. Then we have the interview of a talented young model, Sadaf Kanwal, in our ‘my teenage years’. Hope you enjoy it!
Folks, we would also like to take the opportunity to ask you if you can interview the deans/vice chancellors of universities in your areas. Also, if you have a campus that you are proud of, send the pictures of its facade; if the pic is good, you will see it on back cover. Promise!
Till next time,
