The contemporary qawwali group, Hamza Akram Qawwal and Brothers, who have a Lux Style Award in the Best Emerging Category (Music) as well as several international performances to their credit, recently performed at the Stanford Communion Church in California, commemorating the birth of Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him). This performance makes the qawwal brothers the first ever Pakistanis to have performed at the Stanford Memorial Church.

“This tour marks as their sixth American tour in the past two years,” read the press statement, adding that Hamza Akram along with his brothers Taimoor Akram and Abdul Akram delivered a magical performance in front of an international audience.

Speaking about the experience, Hamza Akram stated, “We feel extremely lucky and grateful to be a part of this grand celebration and to be able to honour the Milad of the Prophet SAW at this beautiful church. The love we received from the audience here is unlike anything, and it’s a proud moment for us to be able to represent Pakistan at an international level.”

That’s not all. The award-winning group is all set for their Sufi Qawwali US tour, that will come to an end on November 30, where they will be covering 9 to 10 major cities across America. They will also perform at the SuperSalt 2019, which is being presented by Salt Arts and is scheduled to take place on December 14, 2019 in Karachi.

In the past, the qawwali group not only composed music for Bilal Ashraf and Urwa Hocane-starrer Rangreza but also landed a spot on BBC Asian Network’s Top 100 Music Chart among other things.
