The Oscar and Golden Globe-winning actor, Nicolas Cage last appeared in the critically lauded psychedelic action horror, Mandy and was also part of the voice cast of Oscar-winning animation film, Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse. Now the actor is all set to star in writer-director-producer Dimitri Logothetis’ sci-fi martial arts movie titled Jiu Jitsu. Cage will star alongside Alain Moussi, who headlined the last two Kickboxer movies.
Based on the comic book of the same name, which Logothetis wrote with Jim McGrath, the film features Moussi as a Jiu Jitsu fighter who every six years must face off against an alien invader, Brax. Cage’s character teams up with him in a battle to defeat Brax.
Talking about the project, Logothetis shared, “After we successfully reintroduced the Kickboxer franchise to a new generation of martial arts fans with the sixth and seventh entries in the series, we set out to up the ante with a sci-fi martial arts franchise that could bring the same kind of intensity and longevity to a new arena.”
Jiu Jitsu is guaranteed to satisfy the millions of martial arts and science fiction lovers across the globe with world class martial artists, stunt men go-to expert Alain Moussi joining superstar Nicolas Cage for some formidable, no holds barred fight sequences set in exotic Burma.
Apart from this, Nicolas Cage will next be seen in Jason Cabell’s Running With the Devil alongside Laurence Fishburne and Leslie Bibb’s Primal opposite Famke Janssen, and Grand Isle with Luke Benward and Kelsey Grammer.
