Among many others, Nawazuddin Siddiqui was also called out when an actress named Niharika Singh recently shared that the former insisted on a sexual relationship with her. “I tried to push him away but he wouldn’t let go; after a little coercion, I finally gave in. I wasn’t sure what to make of this relationship,” she had informed.

This certainly affected Siddiqui’s repute and, as a result, Phantom Films that is producing his next film Ghoomketu, was quick to postpone the film’s release that was supposed to happen on November 16.

Siddiqui’s acting career is under a bit of trouble presently as the second season of Netflix’s Sacred Games may also be dropped given that two crew members of the series, writer Varun Grover and Vikas Bahl (whose now-dissolved parent company Phantom Films is a co-producer on Sacred Games), have already come under scrutiny after being accused of sexual misconduct.

Sources close to the production say that Netflix is likely to drop Siddiqui from the second season of Sacred Games while the series won’t be dropped. However, one of the cast members in Sacred Games, actress Kubbra Sait has defended Siddiqui against the allegation, saying, “A relationship gone sour isn’t #MeToo; someone needs to recognize the toxic difference before we go picking sides. I stand by Nawazuddin Siddiqui.”

How things unfold for Siddiqui and whether he will still be a part of Sacred Games or not, we will have to wait and see.
