Not enough accolades can be used to describe music group Khumariyaan. Featuring Sparlay Rawail, Aamir Shafiq, Farhan Bogra and Shiraz Khan, the group made its debut on Coke Studio 11 and in doing so proved, on a national platform, that this band of four from Peshawar and Islamabad is truly one of the most formidable acts to emerge and represent a region that has felt terror and loss for far too long.

Before making multiple appearances on Coke Studio this season, the strong instrumental folk-rock band has gone on to represent Pakistan in United Kingdom, Ireland and the United States.

They have played across the country’s main cities on more than a few occasions, including collaborating with Salt Arts, the Karachi-based arts management and production company.

Fortunately, the band is making the most of its debut and is set to play a show in Karachi as part of Salt Soiree 27. As Salt Arts noted in its Instagram post, “The energizing, powerhouse band of four are back with Salt Arts this year for a season premium. Experience them live in Karachi, just after they return from performing in Paris at a mountaineering conference, representing the contemporary sound of this country’s Northwestern Frontier.”

Scheduled to play on November 14 at Cotie Rotie in Karachi, the show has limited seating therefore booking right away would be a good call.
