As a global star, Priyanka Chopra has proved her acting skills in Hollywood with her debut TV series Quantico. And it seems there’s no stopping this ‘Desi Girl’. Quite recently, the actor took to social media and revealed via her Instagram that she has started prepping for her upcoming Hindi film, The Sky Is Pink, which is all set to go on floors in August.

The film is being helmed by Shonali Bose, the critically-acclaimed director of Margarita, With A Straw, who has also co-written the film. The Hindi dialogues of the film have been penned by Juhi Chaturvedi of October fame and Nilesh Maniyar has been credited with the additional screenplay. Though, Abhishek Bachchan was to star alongside Chopra in the upcoming project, recent reports suggest that Farhan Akhtar will now star in the film.

The Sky Is Pink is based on the real-life story of Aisha Chaudhary, a motivational speaker who was diagnosed with pulmonary fibrosis at the young age of 13 and passed away when she was 18. Aisha was named an INK Fellow and was also a speaker at TEDx Pune in 2013. She also authored the book, My Little Epiphanies.

While Zaira Wasim will essay the role of Aisha, Farhan and Priyanka will play her parents in The Sky Is Pink.

Apart from this, the actor will soon begin shooting for the Salman Khan-starrer Bharat. Directed by Ali Abbas Zafar, the movie also stars Disha Patani, Sunil Grover, Shashank Arora and Tabu.
