Gearing up for her upcoming air force film Sherdil, directed by Azfar Jafri, Armeena Khan has lately been associated with some humanitarian work. Earlier this week, she attended the fundraiser for the Layton Rahmatulla Benevolent Trust that treats millions in Pakistan with free high quality eye treatment. And just recently, the Canada-based actor announced to hand deliver aid to Syrian refugees in collaboration with Human Relief Foundation, which is a registered international aid organization that helps those in need all over the world.

“After seeing the constant struggle of the Syrian people and other refugees around the world, I have decided to travel out myself personally with Human Relief Foundation to hand deliver your donations to the people directly,” Armeena shared in a statement. “I will be travelling out to Jordan where over 1.7 Million refugees have fled from Syria to try and find some refuge. Although they are in safety, they are struggling to survive daily. They have extremely little or no income and manage to barely eat daily. They do not know where their next meal will be coming from. Some widows have to take their children to the streets and beg for food and money just to survive that day.”

“I will be working with widows and orphans while I am there,” she added. “I will also be doing a fun day for the orphans to give them a warm feeling and to help them forget about the war.”Towards the end of her statement, she has requested fans and followers to donate as much as they can and spread the word.

Coming back to her film, Sherdil, the actor has wrapped up shooting for the film that also features Mikaal Zulfiqar, Hassan Niazi and model turned actor Sabeeka Imam in important roles. She was last seen in Azfar Jafri’s Janaan alongside Ali Rehman Khan and Bilal Ashraf while she played a key role in recently concluded drama serial Daldal opposite Zahid Ahmed.
