Bheja Fry actor Vinay Pathak visited Pakistan earlier this year as part of first Pakistan International Film Festival where he not only spoke at various panels but also attended movie premieres and made public appearances. Reflecting on his trip to Pakistan in a recent interview, the artist said that Pakistanis welcome Indian artists with open arms,

“I think Pakistan is the only country where we are treated with special care because we are Indians,” he told IANS. “No other country in the world will treat us with so much love and warmth because you are an Indian. The hatred that we see in the mainstream media or social media is nothing to do with common people. I think people-to-people friendship can never be stopped and should not be stopped for any reason.”

He also shared that when he went to attend a film’s premiere while he was in Pakistan, he saw a huge poster of the Ajay Devgn-starrer Raid.

“The organisers were saying that there is a market of Indian films in Pakistan because people love watching our films,” he added. “They try to release our films almost simultaneously. Culturally, we have similarities…our legends are same, our food, our looks…everything.”

On the work front, Vinay Pathak will soon be seen in upcoming family drama Khajoor Pe Atke that comes out next week.
