Ahsan Khan is known for essaying diverse roles onscreen, whether it is television or films. While social drama Udaari (in which he essayed the role of a child molester) remains one of his best works till date, the actor recently made a successful big screen debut with Chupan Chupai. The film opened to good reviews and decent box office numbers while Ahsan has bagged a nomination for Best Film Actor for Chupan Chupai.

Making sure he attaches himself to the right kind of projects post Udaari, Ahsan has signed Ehteshamuddin’s upcoming period drama Aangan while he has recently started shooting for Mariam that will talk about minorities in Pakistan.

Co-starring Sadia Khan of Khuda Aur Mohabbat fame, Mariam is a light hearted tale that also carries some significant messages.

“I fall in love with a Christian girl, Mariam, essayed by Sadia Khan but things aren’t very simple for us,” Ahsan told Instep in a telephonic conversation. “The drama isn’t a very serious one but it touches upon important issues surrounding minorities in Pakistan and has a few messages as well. It will be an entertaining watch.”

Ahsan has begun shooting for Mariam while he will be back to the set of Aangan from February 15 for the next spell of shoot. Meanwhile, he is considering a few film scripts that he has been offered aside from his next, Rehbra that will release later this year.

The upcoming film stars Ayesha Omar and Sarish Khan alongside Ahsan.
