There are many young fans who adore Fawad Khan for his acting prowess and serials like Zindagi Gulzar Hai and Humsafar. But those of us who’ve seen him take the stage as part of the rock-metal group, Entity Paradigm aka EP and have heard him on the band’s debut album, Irtiqa, know that once upon a time, he was a visceral rock singer who put a lot of himself into the songs he sang.

Of course those days are long gone and one will have wait and watch Pepsi Battle of the Bands to see just how Khan has evolved musically and whether his taste in music has changed.

There are some days left before the show arrives and while you’re waiting on it, head on over to Patari as they have added EP’s debut album to their ever-expanding music directory.

A cohesive, concept album that made its debut in 2003, it contains both well-known EP songs like ‘Hamain Azma’, ‘Kahan Hai Tu’ as well as other lesser known but more superior gems like ‘Aghosh’, ‘Rahguzar’, ‘Fitrat’ and ‘Barzakh’. While the credit for the songs belong to the whole band, the group was founded jointly by Zulfiqar Jabbar Khan (Xulfi), Fawad Khan and Ahmed Ali Butt.

To get a true taste of what musical innovation sounds like, hear this album and while you’re at it, listen to some of the other EP singles that are also available on Patari. It includes a cover of Sajjad Ali’s ‘Bolo Bolo’ and another cover of the song, ‘Face of Love’ by Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan and Eddie Veddar. Will we see a band that surpasses the legend of EP? Time will tell.
