After leaving a mark with her performance in last year’s hit TV play, Udaari, Urwa Hocane is all set to explore films this year. Having made her big screen debut with Nabeel Qureshi’s Na Maloom Afraad opposite Fahad Mustafa in 2014, Hocane is gearing up for four films in the coming months. The most recent addition to the list is the sequel to Na Maloom Afraad that will also star Mustafa in the lead role.
On associating with four big screen projects simultaneously, the actress said in a press statement, “I want my work to consume me fully. It does get tiring sometimes but when you love your job, every new day brings with it a lot of excitement and hence energy.”
As far as the other three films are concerned, Hocane signed on for Shahid Shafaat’s rom-com, Jhol (earlier titled Two + Two) almost two years ago. Last year she gave the nod for Amir Mohiuddin’s Rangreza that also stars Gohar Rasheed and Bilal Ashraf in lead roles while she also joined the all-star cast of Nadeem Beyg’s upcoming film Punjab Nahi Jaungi. The actress is currently shooting the last spell of Punjab Nahi Jaungi in Karachi.
Reflecting on her work and the opportunities that came her way, Hocane shared, “I have only ever done projects that I have firmly believed in. It’s a coincidence and perhaps a blessing that four such brilliant scripts came to me around the same time and I am ecstatic that I got an opportunity to be associated with the best teams in the industry.”
