It is heartening to see celebrities taking part in social initiatives and contributing to the betterment of society. One of the few names that top our list when it comes to addressing a social cause is actor Ahsan Khan, who is currently riding high on the success of drama serial Udaari that revolves around the theme of child sexual abuse apart from various other issues.

The actor recently donated 20 per cent of his fee from the play to a similar cause and will now be speaking up on the issue of child sexual abuse at The Youth Summit 2.0, scheduled to take place in Sialkot today.

“This is the first time I would be highlighting the issue on an open forum,” Khan told Instep in a brief conversation. “It is the first step towards supporting this cause and a documentary on the subject is also underway,” he added.

He also noted that even if Udaari ends in a couple of weeks, he won’t stop contributing to it and plans to take it further beyond the play. On the drama front, Khan has done a tremendous job as a sinister child abuser, Imtiaz, due to which he has even attracted fans from across the border including Bollywood actor Aditya Pancholi.

The Youth Summit 2.0 is a sequel to The Youth Summit held last year and aims at highlighting and eradicating societal stereotypes with participation from celebrities, philosophers and doctors, who are socially active. Aside from Khan, the event will also feature actor Fahad Mirza, singer Haroon Shahid and Samra Khan.
