The latest story doing rounds is that Khan has impressed Deepika Padukone so much that she has recommended him to be cast opposite her in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s upcoming film Padmavati, according to one story in Pinkvilla.
Another report suggests that Khan has been cast opposite Katrina Kaif by mentor Karan Johar in a Dharma production tentatively titled Raat Baaki. The film, expected to go on floors after November, won’t be directed by Karan but he will don the hat of producer.
In addition, Khan has also been linked to a Salman Khan production in which he could be replacing Saif Ali Khan. And there are suggestions of a Zoya Akhtar film as well. It’s almost as if India has suddenly run out of actors who can anchor a film except for Pakistan’s biggest export in years, Fawad Khan.
Of course, at this point, all of this is mere conjecture because Khan is signed on to star in two Pakistani films including Bilal Lashari’s reinterpretation of Maula Jutt which will also feature Hamza Ali Abbasi.
Meanwhile, Khan, who is back from Australia having picked up a Diversity Award at the Indian Film Festival of Melbourne, is also making heads turn with his fashionable ways and statements including the admission that had he not been a happily married man, he would’ve hit on anything “that moves”.
