Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern of New Zealand grabbed headlines once again after an 11-year-old girl sent her ‘bribe’ money to conduct dragon research but was given the money back.
Eleven-year-old Victoria had written to the Kiwi premier and had asked for her to be given telekinetic powers that would help her in her eventual goal of becoming a dragon trainer.
Along with the endearing letter were NZ$5, which were apparently attached to ‘bribe’ the prime minister to fulfill her request.
However, the response given by Prime Minister Ardern, who is a mother to a 10-month old daughter, was what led to her winning hearts around the world all over again.
"We were very interested to hear your suggestions about psychics and dragons, but unfortunately we are not currently doing any work in either of these areas.
"I am therefore returning your bribe money, and I wish you all the very best in your quest for telekinesis, telepathy and dragons,” she wrote.
At the end of the hand-written letter, Ardern added: "P.S. I'll still keep an eye out for those dragons. Do they wear suits?"
The girl’s request was elaborated on by her brother who stated that her interest in telepathy stems from the hit Netflix original series Stranger Things.
