KARACHI: Pak Sarzameen Party-Secretary General Raza Haroon has called out the Federal Minister of Maritime Affairs Ali Haider Zaidi on Thursday on the seemingly biased distribution of positions vacant at the Karachi Port Trust (KPT).
Haroon, in a tweet published Thursday, said that the list of posts vacant at the KPT - where most of the job openings are only available to the Punjab, Balochistan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and Sindh (rural) quota - shows how Karachi and the urban Sindh has yet again been deprived.
"Janab @AliHZaidiPTI Saheb, without bias, FYI, recent job advert published yesterday in newspapers and #KPT website http://kpt.gov.pk/career.aspx . Not a single position offered to #Sindh (Urban). #Karachi continues to be deprived and suffer #discrimination of #QuotaSystem," reads Haroon's tweet.
In another tweet, Haroon stated:
"Saheb: The “K” in KPT stands for #Karachi but it remains deprived of its due share. Please review the recruitment process and ensure equal opportunity is offered to Karachi-walas as a matter of right not favour."
The job advertisement has been published in the newspapers and is also posted on KPT official website.
