A married couple from China has recently discovered that they appeared in each other’s photographs; decades before they had known the other person existed.
Xue and Ye, married for the past five years, had an almost-encounter in the year 2000, when the two were visiting the Chinese eastern port city of Qingdao, separately. This unnoticed crossing of paths had only just been discovered by the couple when the two came across photographs of them posing at the same location, concurrently.
The detection was made by Ye while he was going through his wife’s old pictures and found himself standing behind in one of her photos where he was posing for his own picture in the background, while Xue was in the foreground, in front of May Fourth Square in Qingdao.
In conversation with international media outlets, Ye has stated: “I was so surprised when I saw the photograph that I got goose bumps all over my body.”
The couple, who had fallen in love in 2011, has expressed their intentions of visiting the Square again with their twin daughters.
