MONTREAL: Eager to satiate their wanderlust, an adventure-loving couple quit jobs to embark on a six-month-long road trip.
Nick Paquette and his girlfriend Janny saved heaps of fortune, a little over $23,000 Canadian dollars to be precise, to use during their incredible journey of travelling across the States and Canada.
They bought a van, grabbed essentials and set off on a 21,700-mile trek.
Travel bugs by nature they turned the van, 2003 Ford Econoline, into a makeshift mobile home with beds and a cooking station.
“We really wanted to have an undetermined period of time where we didn’t have to think about what was next in our lives,” Paquette, 26, said. “Just think about the next day and the next destination.”
But there were moments where money really became an issue.
“I’m a big fan of craft beer so every time we’d show up to a new city where they had a brewery I’d always want to try it out. Or if I wanted to go to a restaurant or something more expensive I’d do it,” shared Paquette.
Despite some bumps along the way, the couple does not regret taking the trip.
These are some of Nick and Janny’s favourite spots to explore.
